I've noticed the national threads have been divisive, alarmist and sometimes offensive. I'd like to see them gone from my home page. Agree? Disagree? What are your thoughts?

Hate them!
I LOVED your idea of e-mailing P&G (advertiser) to let them know exactly what their Luvs brand logo was being attached to.

Really on the fence! Sometimes would like to see the site back to our locals but sometimes one of the national posts catches my eye.... Alot of help I am!
Having someone to love is family!
Having someplace to go is called home!
Having both is a blessing!
Thank you, Lord, for my many blessings!!!!
I don't mind some of them. I don't like the offensive ones. But really I just ignore them, like they don't exist.
Ideally I'd like to see them not there, but I'm pretty good at ignoring things I don't like...
SAHM and need some friends? Ask me about Moms Club! It's a lot of fun.

I do not want to see them gone. I would, however, like to see them moderated. I also don't think that just anyone should be allowed to create them. I haven't seen many that are alarmist or offensive. Many that I have seen are just not worth responding to. Let's make them interesting...debative...not fluffy or a space waster. I also see no harm in the occassional "controversial" topic.

I don't like them on our main discussion page. I would like to maybe have a link to them so if I want I can go look, but I much prefer to have only my local topics show up.
I appreciate the attempts to reduce the number of national threads to 3 on the page, but overall I do not like them.

They need to be removed from local homepages. If a member could choose to see them or to hide them it would be greatly beneficial. They should also be moderated. My local site is very well moderated and it is a shame to see how crazy some of these national polls can be. The only thing I see them doing is fueling the "Mommy Wars" which is NOT what MomsLikeMe is about!
I do not want to see this on my local page. If I want to join the national conversation I will go to the national page.

My child has great things in store for Einstein, Beethoven, Mozart, Nietzsche, Van Gogh, Shaw, Thoreau, Tesla, (Thomas) Jefferson and (Thomas) Edison all had Aspergers! And those are only some of the dead ones!

I agree that the National Site needs to be moderated ASAP!
Another question is why is this a "poll" thread yet no polls are being posted?
To be able to opt out of the National stuff on our local sites would be great....then it's completely in our control what we want to view!
I like to have the option to bring a discussion National, especially if you don't get a ton of answers on your local site. However, seeing the responses to some of the threads posted being so rude, inconsiderate, offensive and downright mean it's not worth it IMO!
This is not what we want new members of MLM to see!

At this point I hate them, but that is largely because they are not moderated and many of the people posting lack good judgment in their topic selection and/or wording. If they are to remain, they need to be moderated. I truly believe that the divisiveness turns people off. There have been times when I have been embarrassed to be associated with this network because of the national content. I have never felt that way about our local content, even though we have issues that bring about a debate. The difference is that our local debates remain cordial and respectful. That is not the case with the national topics.

It does n ot bother me one way or the other. If I see an offensive topic, I ignore it.
