Call the visiting nurses or Goodall, they will be having clinics when they get a new shipment. My son's doctors office is getting no shipments of this vaccine so I am on my own to find it, the doctor told me that's where to look for it. If you call the phone number just ask for the flu clinic and either talk to a person or there will be a recording with the information.
Is everyone getting this for their children? Not judging anyone, I'm just curious as to how many are getting it for kids that stay home.

I'm expecting and my practice is waiting to get them in. I'm just going to wait for them to get it. They are in Newburyport, MA. They said it will be for pregnant patients only and not family members. I'm having a hard time getting one for my 16 mo old and my husband, too. It's just crazy

Here's Vivien Leigh's story about the vaccine shortage.....
Not enough vaccines!
I'm nervous about this because my son has asthma, and so he's high-risk......
I hear from some people that they think "the media" is blowing this out of proportion, that's it's a big scare tactic, but when I talked to Vivien as she was writing her story, she didn't think so..... what do you think?

Read some of these articles before you decide to get the swine flu vaccine.

I know that Martins Point has the vac for pregnant women only right now. You can also look on the maine.gov website for more information on where to find the vac. I looked the other day and did not see any clinics for the H1N1, but they will be updating it regularly.
As for the hype, it is like my ped told me. Everyone feared the West Nile Virus when it came out, now years later, the West Nile Virus is still here and still kills, however it is just not the newest virus anymore, so it does not garner the attention it used to.
I for one will vac both my children. They already had the regular flu shot and after consulting with my ped who I trust I have decided to go ahead with the H1N1 as well. It is a personal choice though as with any vac. What is right for me and my family, may not be right for others.

We are not getting either of the vaccines for our kids or ourselves. I have seen way too many horror stories with them and are willing to take our chances!
We have stepped up the hand washing and wiping down grocery carts and using tons of antibacterial.

My son got both vacines last week. He spent a couple of days a 'little off', but seems to have bounced back just fine.
Like others here, I was pretty tormented about whether or not to get the vaccines, but when it came down to it, two things were my deciding factors.
1. My son is in daycare full time
2. My pediatrician strongly recommended it
It is a very personal and difficult decision for most of us and all you can do is follow your heart and your gut.
