I'll tell you my c-section stories AFTER you have your third! lol
I can't vote because I didn't have a "normal" c-section with either of my kids.

I had three c-sections and I think I could safely say that they were all pretty much the same recovery-wise. My third time in I also said, "while you're in there just snip those tubes too." lol Won't be having anymore!

oooh i'm dying to hear your response breanne1010. I had my first child with a c-section and everyone says oh the next time it wil be easier bc you'll know your going to have a c-section and you'll be in and out. I'm dreading having a second child just because i'm scared of another c-section

I will be having my 5th section here in a couple of weeks. My last was by far the easiest.(and after the 1st they all got easier) I am praying that this one will be the same!

i personally found c#2 easier to recover from.
a) I was in better physical shape -- #1 I was pre-ecclamptic and ballooned from 135 to 210 (!) with literally 55 of those pounds being water weight.
b) #1 was more of an emergency -- again, the preecclampsia caused the docs to induced at 38 wks while simultaneously administering magnesium sulfate ("mag sulfate") to guard against risk of going into seizures due to the preecclampsia, but since mag-sulfate is a muscle relaxant it kinda counteracts the pitosin and so labor was going nowhere even though the contractions were horribly hard and fast; #2 just wasn't fitting out and so after 3hrs of pushing we called it a day and wheeled off to the o.r. at a more leisurely pace rather than an omg panic pace
c) I knew better what to expect as far as how to get up out of bed, how to use my legs to swing around to get up, etc.; I wasn't as worried about popping right open (hey, those staples look scary yet fragile, right???)
you'll be fine, darling, you've already done this twice (!) they have a good dotted line to cut along :)
I have a 27 yr old, a 17 yr old and a 9 yr old...had a C-section with all of them. Got easier each time. The last time I was a little more nervous because I was sooo much older. But it was fine.

I think c-sections are different for everyone and for every pregnancy. My c-section was very unpleasant, I felt some of the cutting (more than just pressure) and was uncomfortable during the entire thing, ended up with a blood clot and have some cosmetic issues with the evenness of the skin along the scar. I also had a lot of pain, even with percocet (oxycodone) for pain relief. It took me a long time to recover and feel back to 'normal' also. A friend of mine had a c-section and was up moving around like nothing happened the next day when I went to see her in the hospital. I was so jealous because I was still miserable weeks after mine and avoided moving, lol. But we both had healthy babies and that's all that really matters.
If you feel like you're overly worried about your upcoming c-section, talk to your Doctor about your concerns. Being worried about surgery is normal, but if you feel like you're little panic attacks are effecting you more than they should, a chat with the doc would probably help.
Best wishes!
I've only had one, but I've always thought that having another would be much less stressful. We had not planned for it the first time, so fear of the unknown was totally overwhelming. Next time I'll know it's going to happen and what and when, etc. I find security in knowing what to expect. In the end, I healed and we all lived happily after anyway.

I just had my third csection 5 days ago. I too was freaking out and panicking about it.
My advice, talk to your anestesiologist before the procedure. Tell him/her what you are afraid of. They will walk you through everything!
With mine I had a bad experience with my second csection so I told him about it and what he did this time was make sure he did the spinal a different way and let me tell you it was great!
I had no problems, I felt very relaxed and they told me what was going on the whole time. I did throw up twice but nothing major and they said that is normal.
With my first two I was put under general anestesia immediately after baby was taken out, this time they didn't have to! It was great!!!
And I felt good the whole day after, they gave me a pain pump to keep up with the pain easier. I actually went home early! I had the section Thursday morning, by noon on Saturday I was home! And I've been walking around quite a bit, just took a trip to the store and feel pretty good!
There is a chance of a little more pain after the procedure because it's not your first, they say some of it gets worse after each baby but its normal. When trying to breast feed my uterus ached like nothing I've ever felt, but that too went away.
I hope this helps you some, I wish I had known this a few weeks ago because up until I sat on that table I was freaked out! I had tears falling down my face as they did the spinal because I was that scared!!
I hope you get nurses and doctors that were as supportive and sweet as mine were, if you are uncomfortable or scared about anything tell them!! They can help you through it, thats what they are there for!!!
Good Luck!
