I've only had one c-section, but I've had multiple abdominal surgeries due to a car accident. I personally believe that although the scaring does thicken (I'm also a nurse) the pain decreases because you know what to expect. Although after I had my c-section I wasn't able to rest because they didn't just repair and sew up, they handed me what they had taken out. lol.

My first was an emergency section.  I went and did all of my Christmas shopping for the first 5 hours I was home from the hospital.  No problems at all.

Second was a planned section.  It was rough because I had a ton of scar tissue from the emergency the first time.  I couldn't walk even after 8 weeks when I had to go back to work.  Miserable!

My thrid was a breeze.  I went home less than 24 hours after my section.  I was up brushing my teeth, holding my cathetar and bag before anyone even asked me to come in.

My forth, I couldn't even tell I had a section.  Had it not been for having gal bladder surgery 4 hours before my section, I wouldn't have had a single problem at all.  I was in a lot of pain from that surgery, but nothing at all from my section.

I had 2 c- sections and I feel like the second one is much easier than the first. I was nervous the whole time I was pregnant with my second pregnancy because I knew the whole time I was going to have a scheduled c- section. When it was time, it went so much easier than the first time. I was more comfortable and it was much easier to get up and walk around. I am sure you will be fine. The only thing you will be thinking about is meeting your 3rd child for the first time.

The hard part was taking care of the kids afterwards since your not suppose to pick up anyone or anything heavier than the newborn.

oooh i'm dying to hear your response breanne1010.  I had my first child with a c-section and everyone says oh the next time it wil be easier bc you'll know your going to have a c-section and you'll be in and out.  I'm dreading having a second child just because i'm scared of another c-section

A repeat cesarean isn't a must, it's still your decision.  Many care providers will say that they only perform repeat cesareans on c-sectioned mothers because the risk of XYZ is too much, but that doesn't mean that you can't safely choose a provider who will support your desire for a VBAC.  Research your options, educate yourself, and make the best decision for you, your baby and your family.  Don't let the status-quo lead you to a decision you aren't comfortable with.

I've only had one, but I've always thought that having another would be much less stressful.  We had not planned for it the first time, so fear of the unknown was totally overwhelming.  Next time I'll know it's going to happen and what and when, etc.  I find security in knowing what to expect.   In the end, I healed and we all lived happily after anyway.

A good childbirth education course will kick your fear to the curb!  Check out this link for Hypnobabies

Well, that depends.  I know my pelvic bone is shaped unusually, so I wouldn't be able to push out a baby.  (Tried that the first time for 2.5 hours and nothin!).  It depends on the situation.  A vaginal birth would probably never be an option for me.  But I know that some c-section moms can have a VBAC.... wish I was one of them.

I have only had 1. With my DD I had a planned c-section because of an AVM.  I am a proud c-sec momma.  I'm glad I had to have a c-sec, it was so easy, I had no pain, and I was up walking around in my jeans the next day. Planned vs. Emergency sections are very very different.  I would think if you have had two normal, good c-sections the third would go just as smoothly.  Good luck, and try to relax I am SURE it will be alright.

I had 3 c-sections and with my last one I had my tubes tied.  My first one was kind of tough because it was an emergency c-section.  My second one was a breeze...I was vacuuming the day I came home from the hospital.  I knew what to expect from the pain and how to move around.  My 3rd one was a little tougher.  I had my tubes tied and I don't know if that had anything to do with it.  It was a little more pain but I knew when to take it easy too.  Don't freak out!!  You'll be fine!

1st one I was 15 days over-due they induced me,pushed for 3 1/2 hrs.  Pushed her back up in me for a c-section.  Did not get to be awake

2nd one, was going to do a v-bac.  But I was 10days overdue and it did not look good.  So I had a c-section.  Everything was much, much easier than the 1st.

3rd had a planned c-section 6 days b4 my due date.  It was the easiest one.    & btw, the easiest baby, toddler & kid.  We just truely love, love, love him.
